The Steelers Flag powered by PFFL offers Pittsburgh girls only recreational flag football focused on skill development, teamwork, and fun in a safe, Steelers-powered environment.
The first three practices are coed and the final three are for girls only.
Skill Development Practices are designed to help athletes build the fundamental skills needed to become confident and successful flag football players. Practices focus on position specific instruction, including throwing, catching, route running, flag pulling, footwork, and defensive techniques through structured drills and repetition. As players progress, coaches introduce more advanced concepts and game-like situations that help athletes apply their skills at a faster pace while developing overall football IQ.
Tips to prepare:
Spikes are not required, but highly recommended as long as the spikes are not metal baseball spikes.
Talk to your child about giving their best effort throughout every drill.
Encourage them to listen to coaches when they are talking and ask questions when they do not understand something.
Reinforce to them that they will not be the only child their for the first time and its ok if they make a mistake.
