Although the FALCONS and STEELERS went back and forth scoring touchdowns, the FALCONS emerged victorious defeating the Steelers 19-12. In the PFFL Youth League there are several talented players like the SAINTS’ Joshua DiMatteo. In addition to DiMatteo, Falcons’ Wide Receiver Raymond Hart is the youthful version of VAPOR All-Star Darius Prince.

Hart scored two touchdowns. On his first score, the FALCONS’ WR took a handoff from Quarterback Tony Stevenson the distance for a dazzling sprint to the end zone. Later in the game, Hart erased a 12-6 deficit after he caught a pick 6 interception thrown by the STEELERS’ Moreana Kormick.

“I seen her look down the field,” Hart explained. “Then I seen her look straight at him [a STEELERS’ Wide Receiver] and then I just ran up and took the ball.”

While Hart deserves much credit for his offensive and defensive playmaking, his teammate Stevenson also was clutch. With the score tied at 12, Stevenson lined up two players behind the center. After the ball was snapped to the “quarterback,” he then handed the ball off to Stevenson. Instead of throwing, Stevenson darted to the edge of the STEELER defense and rushed for the home run play of the game.

“They thought I was gonna throw the ball but then I just ran when nobody was on me,” Stevenson explained.

For the STEELERS, it was the “DeSean, Dashawn, and Daeshon Show.” DeSean Fountain scored the game’s first touchdown on a rushing play. Later, Dashawn Schaffer hooked up with Daeshon Butler for another score that put the STEELERS up 12-6.

When asked what the STEELERS need to improve on to get a victory next time, Fountain replied “Stay still, don’t block and make picks.”
