Kids must learn to trust each other.

There’s a minute left in the game, and you’re team is down by six with a chance to score the game winning touchdown.

What do you do?

Situations like this illustrate the importance of youth sports like NFL Youth flag football. Because without strong healthy relationships with everyone involved, there’s no chance for your team to win.

First, the coach has to tell the play to the players, and that’s based on two things. The coach has to have taught the players how to execute the play for it to work, and the players have to trust the coach is making the right call.

Many times in life, young people are going to rely on people teaching and helping them. Whether it’s coaches, teachers or parents, youths need to learn how to develop these strong relationships early.

So the plays called in, and everybody heads to the line. The quarterback makes quick eye contact with the wide receiver, and both slightly nod knowing the game is riding on this slant pattern.

Kids must learn to trust each other. The quarterback has to trust the receiver is going to cut at the right place and right time. The receiver has to trust the ball will be delivered at the right time.

These players must work together to achieve a common goal just like they’ll have to throughout their life, and when a team can come together, everyone wins.
