YOU DON'T WANT ME TO PICK YOUR SQUAD TO WIN

The PFFL All-Star game has always been known for its competitive nature. And with this year's class being perhaps the most talented group of all time, there's no reason to believe that should change.

However, the Iron Conference appears to have the advantage, as it has the reigning Offensive Player of the Year in STEELTOWN's (Chris Sullivan) on its first team, and the reigning Iron Man of the Year in REIGN's (Jason Cahill) on the second team. On paper, the Iron Conference appears to have more talent.

But that's why the game isn't played on paper.

The Steel Conference is used to this reporter picking against its teams, as I did pick the Iron Conference to win the All-Star game last year, but Steel came out on top. And I did in fact, pick STEELTOWN to win it all last year, only to see the PA PUNISHERS hand the powerhouse squad its first ever loss in PFFL action.

So to make a long story short -- YOU DON'T WANT ME TO PICK YOUR SQUAD TO WIN (just kidding... sorta).

Still, I find it hard to believe that a team that has Sullivan throwing to Jason Bialek won't score the most points. Throw in the fact that two of the league's most tenacious defenders, defensive back Tony Colaizzi, and sack machine Goose Fisher, are on that same team, and I can't see a team putting up enough points to beat them.

But the Steel Conference has veteran Eugene Smith at quarterback, and the guy this reporter believes is the most underrated player in the entire league, Aaron Kojundic, to throw the ball to on its first team. But will it be enough?

The answer is no.

But it won't be the Iron Conference's first team winning this all-star challenge, but rather the second team.

While the second team may not have the collective numbers of the first, it does contain the league's most dangerous player: Cahill. On top of Cahill, it also features STEELTOWN's Chris Conrad and Dave Doyle, and an up-and-coming quarterback in 4 PLAY's Mike Kelly.

So when it's all said and done, the Iron Conference will still come out on top, but it will be the second-team all-stars that represent for the conference.
