TIGGY TIME improves its record to 5-3, good enough for first place in the Iron East Division.

The PFFL community wasn’t paying much attention to the interconference battle between the struggling COBRAS and upstart TIGGY TIME when the game began. But by the end of the game, it’s all people could talk about.

That’s because the two teams battled into three overtimes, making it the longest game in PFFL history. In fact, TIGGY TIME’s, 13-12, victory over the COBRAS was so unique, that the game-winning play didn’t even result in a touchdown.

By PFFL rules, once a game reaches three overtimes, both teams have one opportunity to score from the five yard line. However, if both teams fail to reach the endzone on their opportunity, the team which gained the most yards is awarded one point, and the victory.

The COBRAS had the first opportunity in the third overtime, but quarterback Fritz Tamburro was unable to complete a pass. That’s when TIGGY TIME’s Randy Carretta caught a pass from Robert Lang right past the line of scrimmage to win the game.

With the win, TIGGY TIME improves its record to 5-3, good enough for first place in the Iron East Division. The team, which is competing in its second season, is one game ahead of DUKES.

The COBRAS continue to struggle, however, and blew a, 12-0, lead at the half to TIGGY TIME. The problem in this game for the COBRAS came in accountability, as several players were more concerned with arguing with the officials, than making game-changing plays.

If the COBRAS want to compete this season, they need to put more responsibility on themselves.
