Steel North Divisional Battle Leaves the HORSEMEN Ridding High

“We’re right where we want to be, and we were able to capitalize on all of their mistakes.”

It isn’t very often that your quarterback, and first man to arrive at the field, misses the start of a game. But in the HORSEMEN’s, 20-6, drudging of TEAM UPDAWG, that’s exactly what happened.

HORSEMEN quarterback and PFFL All-Star Dennis “Shor D” Wolford arrived at Cupples Stadium well before his team’s scheduled 10:20 a.m. start. But as the game approached, Wolford was nowhere to be found.

No “Shor D,” no problem, according to HORSEMEN receiver Donald Jenkins.

“We didn’t really have a gameplan for the start of the game, but Guiseppe came in and made some nice passes for us,” Jenkins said with a grin. “Having multiple quarterbacks is a plus.”

The HORSEMEN would have their normal signal-caller after the game’s first possession, but Guiseppe Rosselli took full advantage of his time under center, as he found Jenkins for the game’s first touchdown. Jenkins would score a second touchdown, this time from the sure arm of Wolford right before the half to give the HORSEMEN a, 13-6, halftime advantage.

The HORSEMEN would score on their first possession of the second half to help coast to the victory. For TEAM UPDAWG, it’s a similar story as the talented squad remains unable to breakthrough against top competition.

But according to Jenkins, the HORSEMEN are on the right track.

“Our play-calling and togetherness was the difference in this game,” he said. “We’re right where we want to be, and we were able to capitalize on all of their mistakes.”
