With the BENGALS heading towards a sure touchdown, Xavier made a touchdown saving stop on defense that led to a turnover.

Coming into the game half a game in front of the BENGALS, the BILLS were looking to build off of their hard-fought victory over the BEARS last week. Early on in the game, these two teams had the makings of another slugfest. Neither team was doing much on offense until a long pass play by the BENGALS looked like it was going to give them the lead. With the BENGALS coming for the goal line, Xavier Jones took over for the BILLS.

With the BENGALS heading towards a sure touchdown, Xavier made a touchdown saving stop on defense that led to a turnover. The first play of the ensuing drive for the BILLS, quarterback Ryan Shapiro hit Xavier in stride for a long touchdown. Xavier wasn’t done there. The BILLS defense made another stop on the next drive and the ball went right back to Xavier. Early in the drive, a hand off up the middle gave Xavier another long touchdown and gave the BILLS a 12-0 lead.

Down 12-0, the BENGALS showed the grit that we’ve come to expect from them. Leaning on their patented run-heavy offense, the BENGALS clawed back into the game with a rushing touchdown of their own. That’s as close as the BILLS would let them get though, as Xavier took third touchdown of the day in and secured an 18-7 victory. After the game, Xavier was a man of few words and just said, “I just like playing football, I like catching and scoring.”
