Many opponents are lulled to sleep by the speed of his teammates Travis Ommert and Branden Ballard...

With so much aggressive growth within the PFFL over the last two years, it would be easy to get lost in the sheer amount of players in the league. From the humble beginnings of ten teams during the fall 2009 season, to a record setting twenty eight this Spring, new players have been showing up from all corners of Pittsburgh. Each season there is always the “Usual Suspects” of top individual performances, but we as staff wanted to draw some attention to some up and coming impact players of the spring 2011 season. These players are creeping on to the PFFL scene and quietly becoming players that every team should keep on their radar.

Mike Kelly (4 PLAY) – Essentially the QB, WR and Mr. Everything for the super athletic 4 PLAY team. Do not let the age and inexperience fool you, these guys have talent and have the potential to make a playoff push.

  • PUCK U has been incredible so far, but they still have a long way to go if they hope to walk away with as champions in May.

Darren Scott (BULLDOGS) – D Scott is no rookie to the PFFL, but this season seams to be his break out year. Helping the BULLDOGS to a 5 – 1 start and assisting in being the anchor man on a young and talented defense.

Brandon Williams (STINGERS) – A dynamic athlete who looks more like a power forward in basketball rather than flag footballer, this towering giant is reeking havoc in the secondary for many of the STINGERS opposition.

Robert Brown (THE U) – Rob comes to the PFFL in just his 2nd season and seemingly taking the WR position by storm. Many opponents are lulled to sleep by the speed of his teammates Travis Ommert and Branden Ballard, but those who are doing homework should know THE U has a dynamic 3rd option.

Dan Krchmar (D-BLOCK) – He is no rookie to flag, but he is new to the PFFL. Initially Dan had reservations about the QB running rule, but for those who have been paying attention Dan is embarrising most opposing rushers. Do not let the D-BLOCK record fool you, this team has the fire power and experience to make a run.

Bill Theobald (DUKES) – Not know for his arm, Bill has become the go to back up QB in times of the absence of the DUKES leading man. A dual threat player with an arm is always something worth watching.

Vince Flotta (COBRA) – Vince is a big target with a deceptive ability to stretch the field. Obviously keep your eyes on this guy in the red zone, but also be aware of the post over top. Safety’s in the league should choose wisely.

Anthony Garrett (SHOWTIME) – Most can hear Anthony coming from a mile away because of his passionate talk during the games, but are you recognizing his production? Most haven’t, but what you should know is that Garrett has shown not only deep threat play making ability, but also a knack for getting to opposing QB’s as a rusher.

Nick Keefer (THE GOODS) – A former member of the WOLFPACK, this QB is helping will THE GOODS to wins through the use of his legs. With 24 att and 5 td’s, he is just 3 rushing td’s away from breaking the current PFFL record.
