he JETS’ first two possessions of the game resulted in touchdowns and the BRONCOS

A beautiful Sunday afternoon in the perfect fall weather called for some football. But not just any football; we’re talking about the adrenaline pumping, fast paced, on the edge of your seat Flag Football. Today it was the BRONCOS & the JETS facing off.

The BRONCOS team consisted of: Jessie Kaufmann, Ashwin Wasan, Quincy Young, Sky Wylend, & Trey McMurry. The coach leading the BRONCOS was Roy Wyland.

The JETS team consisted of: Isaiah Johnson, Devin Lewis, Alex Charles, Mark Johnson, & Romeo Love. The coaches leading the JETS were Mark Johnson Sr. & Shae Athelwolf.

The players met with the referee for the coin toss as the cool autumn breeze brushed across their skin. The BRONCOS chose tails, as it tends to never fail, but alas, it did this time and the JETS chose to receive. As the JETS took the field, their offense came streaming out in force. You could say the Jets certainly took off. During the opening drive, the Jets flew down the field and on the first play a pass to R. Love resulted in a touchdown. The score was 6-0.

Now time for the BRONCOS to get the ball back, they woefully went 3 and out which gave the ball back to the JETS. The JETS’ first two possessions of the game resulted in touchdowns and the BRONCOS couldn’t seem to get in the groove of things struggling not only offensively but defensively as well. The BRONCOS had the opportunity to intercept the ball and change the momentum of the game but they were unable to hold on as the ball slipped through the fingers of the defender.

At halftime, the score was 13-0 in favor of the JETS. For the BRONCOS, J. Kaufmann really stood out from the rest. Not only was she a threat in the run game but she also proved admirable in the receiving game. She really gave it her all and that was shown by her ability on the field. S. Wylend played quarterback for the majority of time for the Broncos but everyone on the team was given the opportunity to play each position.

A false start killed a promising drive for the BRONCOS at the beginning of the second half. They had been showing signs of turning it around but they quickly were put back on their heels. J. Kaufmann had again showed promise with a beautiful reception but was unable to get the first down. You could see the BRONCOS were getting frustrated with their inability to score a touchdown.

S. Wylend then threw a pick-6 to D. Lewis which really put the BRONCOS into a hole. The score was now 19-0 Jets, but as the Jets went for an extra point, the play resulted in a turnover. The BRONCOS went on to another 3 and the Jets offense came back out to the field. Jets player A.Charles broke multiple tackles on the first play to get the touchdown. The JETS now led the BRONCOS 25-0. The JETS jetted their way home after the Broncos threw another pick-6, this time to A. Charles resulting in the JETS flying past their opponent with an ending score of 31-0.

A few ending quotes from one of the MVPS, A. Charles:

“I’m good, I’m just happy to have won the game.”

“I was just on a man & he threw the ball up high in the air and I caught it and I ran for the touchdown.”

“The coach said he was gonna hand it off to me and everyone was just scrambling everywhere and I just went straight through everybody for the touchdown.”
