Cardinals’ defense came up big this week and finished the shut out of the Panthers 6-0, making their case to be a championship favorite early

The early game brought together the undefeated CARDINALS and the 0-1 PANTHERS. Fresh off of a hard fought loss last week, the PANTHERS’ strong defense carried over against the highflying CARDINALS’ offense. After putting up 30 points last week against the EAGLES, the CARDINALS were held in check early by the PANTHERS defense.

The Panthers limited the CARDINALS’ passing attack and carried a scoreless game over the first few possessions. The CARDINALS’ offense manages to break through with a long touchdown pass down the middle of the field for one of the few mistakes that the PANTHERS made throughout the day.

The game remained close until the PANTHERS looked like they tied up the game with a long touchdown pass of their own, only to have it called back when their quarterback was revealed to have been across the line of scrimmage before launching the pass. With the score sitting at 6-0 and time running out, the PANTHERS started to mount one last stand with a strong rally in the last minute.

The PANTHERS were marching down the field and took their shot for the tie, when the seemingly impenetrable defense came up with one last big play and intercepted the pass in the end zone.  After lighting up the scoreboard last week, the CARDINALS’ defense came up big this week and finished the shut out of the PANTHERS 6-0, making their case to be a championship favorite early.
