“We got that cookies and cream mix.”

“We got that cookies and cream mix.” These words were uttered by a very satisfied Anthony Palumbo after a big win for COOKIES & CREAM.

COOKIES & CREAM scored 18 points in both halves to complete a blowout victory over GARAGE DOOR SALOON, 36-21. Quarterback Adam Leonard completed 66.7% of his passes and threw three touchdowns to pace COOKIES & CREAM.

While Leonard was very efficient, his contributions were only superseded by Palumbo. Most notably, Leonard hooked up with Palumbo for two of his three touchdown passes. In addition, Palumbo contributed three tackles and a pick 6 interception as time expired in the second half. Also, Connor Mannion was sensational on defense with his 6 tackles and 1 interception.

On the other side of the field, GARAGE DOOR Quarterback George Jeffrey turned in a disappointing performance for the losing squad. Although Jeffrey completed 63.6% of his passes with two touchdowns, the signal-caller also threw three interceptions including the turnover that Palumbo converted into a gut-wrenching touchdown.

One bright spot for GARAGE DOOR was the solid play of Jeffrey’s wide receivers. Brad Paulik (8 receptions), Chris Moore (7 receptions, 2 touchdowns), and Anthony Panza (7 receptions, 1 touchdown) provide hope for the GARAGE DOOR offense. If Jeffery can cut down on his interceptions then his team will have a better chance at getting some victories.

After the game, Palumbo exuded extreme confidence in his team’s ability to win many more games this season. “When we all show up and play we win, plain and simple,” he said. “We got more speed than any team in the PFFL, guaranteed!”
