“I was mad because of the earlier loss [STEELTOWN],” he said. “I felt like I let my team down earlier. [So in this game] I kept my composure.

Joe Scalise singlehandedly carried the WOLF PACK to a solid 22-13 victory over DUKE'S RIB HOUSE & GRILLE. While his teammates contributed to the win, no one was more crucial than the versatile Scalise.

Scalise scored two touchdowns (1 passing, 1 rushing), 1 reception, two tackles and three sacks. Performances of this caliber usually don’t accompany a quarterback’s final stat line. However, if Scalise can continue to use his arm, legs, and defensive activity to generate more wins for the WOLF PACK, then he will definitely be in the running for IRON MAN of the YEAR honors.

Scalise played with an edge all game against DUKE’S and for good reason. Earlier Scalise and his teammates suffered an embarrassing 41-18 loss courtesy of the red-hot STEELTOWN. In the game the WOLF PACK QB threw two costly interceptions. Scalise’s poor play motivated him to take out his frustration on DUKE’S.

“I was mad because of the earlier loss [STEELTOWN],” he said. “I felt like I let my team down earlier. [So in this game] I kept my composure. We kept it simple, a lot of runs.”

Scalise’s brother Phil also had a productive game for the WOLF PACK. Phil caught 4 passes including one for a touchdown, completed four out of five passes, and sacked DUKE’S QB Paul Yurchak.

For the team formerly known as the CYCLONES, starting QB Dan Sloan threw for a touchdown and an interception before leaving the game early due to injury. Hopefully the signal-caller’s injury isn’t serious because DUKE’S will need his leadership in the postseason.
