TEAM UPDAWG has constantly been considered a “Team to Watch” ever since joining the PFFL.

TEAM UPDAWG has constantly been considered a “Team to Watch” ever since joining the PFFL. But to many, with the talent this squad has, this is the season where UPDAWG either puts up, or shuts up. It wasn’t a good start, as the PRO BOWLERS smacked TEAM UPDAWG, 34-6, in the opening weekend of action.

PRO BOWLERS’ quarterback Mike Kregiel was able to pick apart the suspect defense of UPDAWG, completing 14 of 16 passes for four touchdowns and only one interception, while not being sacked all game.

Kregiel’s usual target, Mark Kobistek, finished the game with a team-high five receptions and two touchdowns. While Eric (please tell us your last name!) also scored twice on four receptions.

It was a frustrating game for TEAM UPDAWG, as quarterback Steve Menowsky was only able to complete nine of 16 passes, while also throwing an interception to Greg Kregiel.

The loss doesn’t discount UPDAWG from being a true contender, as many teams do improve as the season goes on. However, the drubbing the team took at the hands of the PRO BOWLERS should be the more worrisome sign for UPDAWG.

As for the PRO BOWLERS, a dominating performance like this can go a long way in terms of confidence moving forward. But if Kregiel continues to be as efficient as he was in week one, the rest of the PFFL must beware of this talented bunch.
