Free Agency Ends Tomorrow!

As defined by Wikipedia a Free Agent is a player whose contract with a team has expired and who is thus eligible to sign with another club or franchise. Granted, there aren't any contracts in the PFFL, but their are plenty of guys out there that want to bring their skills to an existing and or new team.

As many flag footballers from across the country know, sometimes convincing friends or co-workers to take part in a flag football league can be a tall order of a request. Between family, vacations and other life stuff, its frankly hard to form a team of dedicated adult flag football players. Free Agency allows for someone who is dedicated to become part of community of men who share in the same vision of competing while having fun. Free Agency also has proven to be a a great forum to become engaged in the fast growing athletic community in Pittsburgh.

We sat down for a few minutes to speak with rising PFFL star and onetime Free Agent Travis Ommert for a little Q & A about the PFFL and Free Agency.

What got you interested in the PFFL?
“I was new to the area and I honestly wanted to get involved with some form of competitive sports. I played prior seasons in PSL and met guys like Sean Farr and Giuseppe Rosselli who then turned me on to the idea of competing in the PFFL.”

How were you received by your teammates and the league as a whole?
“Sean and the other members of THE U brought me right in during the fall 2010 season and from that I have actually been approached by other teams to compete with them in other PFFL events. The competition has been great and I am really enjoying it. “

What did you think about the Free Agent process?
“League Administration reached out immediately after an initial inquiry and everything went pretty smooth from there.”

It is also worth mentioning that having only played one season in the PFFL, Travis Ommert was already elected onto the Fall 2010 All-Star team. The only question left is to ask do YOU have what it takes?

There is still time left to become a Free Agent in the PFFL!
