A ball-hawking defense was the main reason the TITANS came out on top

At halftime, it looked like the contest between the EAGLES and TITANS would come down to the final minutes. Then, the TITANS completely took over and dominated the second half, going on to win 25-6.

A ball-hawking defense was the main reason the TITANS came out on top, as the EAGLES threw three interceptions on the day, two of which were returned for touchdowns.

The first of the interceptions took place on the game’s opening possession, as a pass down the right side of the field was cut off and returned to the end zone, giving the TITANS an early 6-0 lead.

The EAGLES struck back though, putting together a nice drive capped by a screen pass from a few yards out. They got an interception of their own a few plays later but were unable convert it into points, settling for a 6-6 tie at halftime.

At the start of the second half, the TITANS immediately retook the lead, going up 12-6 on a long touchdown pass. They added on a few minutes later, picking up their second interception of the day and scoring on the ensuing possession. Now, the score was 19-6 and the EAGLES needed a quick touchdown to keep their hopes alive.

But it wasn’t meant to be, as the TITANS got their second pick-six of the day to take a 25-6 lead and effectively put the game away. The EAGLES had two chances to score down the stretch but couldn’t convert either opportunity as the TITANS cruised to victory.

Entering the playoffs, the EAGLES are the longshot to win the championship, entering as the No. 4 seed. On the other hand, the TITANS — whose only loss came June 25 against the RAVENS — finished the season 2-1 and look to have a good shot at winning the title.
