Heading into the final week of the regular season, things are tight in the 10-to-12 year-old age division. Three teams are within a half game of first while the fourth-place 49ERS are just one game back.

With a lot left to be decided, there should be a lot of excitement at Cupples Field on Sunday, July 9. Here’s a look at how each team in the division has performed thus far with a corresponding letter grade.

DOLPHINS (3-0)

At 3-0, it might seem like the DOLPHINS have dominated the division, but it hasn’t been easy for them so far. Two of their three wins have come in one-possession games, and their offense hasn’t been great lately.

The team heavily relies on its defense, which has allowed only 14 total points, all of which came in the team’s 18-14 win over the STEELERS in week one. The unit should be able to keep the team in any game, giving them a possible path to the championship.

GRADE: A

STEELERS (3-1)

Outside of a week one loss to the DOLPHINS, the STEELERS have dominated their opponents, outscoring them 88-8. Last week, they beat the previously undefeated SEAHAWKS by a score of 24-6, putting them in a tie for second with one game left.

The team has improved throughout the season, allowing fewer points against equally tough competition. If they get a rematch against the DOLPHINS in the playoffs, it could spell trouble for the division leaders.

GRADE: A

SEAHAWKS (3-1)

Sporting one of the best offenses in the league, the SEAHAWKS shot out to a 3-0 start before losing this past Sunday. The unit has put up an average of 26.5 points per game and is the reason the team sits near the top of the division.

After the bye week, the SEAHAWKS go up against the DOLPHINS and have a chance to take the division lead with a win. It promises to be an exciting matchup, with the top seed in the playoffs potentially on the line.

GRADE: A-

49ERS (3-2)

The 49ERS got off to a rough start, dropping to 1-2 after a week three shutout loss to the STEELERS. Both their offense and defense struggled during this stretch, but the team has turned it around lately and has a two-game winning streak entering next week.

The key to their turnaround has been an improved defense. The unit hasn’t given up a single score the past two games, and while the offense has been lackluster, they’ve still managed to walk away with wins.

GRADE: B

COLTS (2-2)

The most inconsistent team in the division, the COLTS sit at 2-2 after last week’s 12-0 win over the RAMS. The team’s most impressive performance so far was their 40-30 win over the BUCCANEERS in week two.

Next Sunday, they take on the 0-2 JAGUARS with a chance to finish the year above .500. There’s still a lot to fight for too, as they could drop to the No. 5 seed with a loss.

GRADE: C

FALCONS (1-2)

After starting the season with a win over the COLTS, the FALCONS have fallen off and now look like they’ll start the playoffs in the bottom half of the division.

The offense has been the primary concern for the group, but the defense played just as poorly last week, giving up 39 points to the PACKERS. There’s still time to turn things around though, but it’s hard to see the squad making a run in the playoffs.

GRADE: D+

JAGUARS (0-2)

The JAGUARS have only played two games so far this summer, but they’ve gone up against some of the division’s best teams in the STEELERS and 49ERS. And while they kept things close against the 49ERS — losing 13-6 — things were more lopsided against the STEELERS.

Next week, they close out the season against the COLTS looking to get their first win of the year.

GRADE: C-

BUCCANEERS (0-3)

After getting blown out by the SEAHAWKS in week one, the BUCCANEERS have improved over the last few weeks. Still, it hasn’t been enough to win, and the team now sits in last place in the division.

It won’t get any easier next weekend either, as they take on the STEELERS at 4:30 p.m. But if they can find a way to pull off the upset, they could jump as high as the No. 6 seed entering the playoffs.

GRADE: D
