The turnout wasn’t great but the game was still engaging as the COWBOYS won 21-14.

As the COWBOYS and JETS took to the field to kick off week four of the PFFL summer season, the turnout wasn’t great but the game was still engaging as the COWBOYS won 21-14.

Chiefs coach Brad Phillips took over the COWBOYS for the afternoon, filling in for Chris Curd who was officiating the match up.

Phillips’ team started strong, scoring early on a long touchdown run down the sideline to go up 7-0. The JETS struck back with a touchdown run of their own, tying things at seven just a few minutes into the game.

Trying to retake the lead, the COWBOYS advanced deep into JETS’ territory on a run down the middle of the field. The running back broke through a huge hole only to be chased down by William Lee III, saving a sure touchdown. It was a big play in the game, and later on in the possession, the JETS got a pick-six to take a 14-7 lead going into the break.

The second half was much more defensive than the first with three consecutive turnover on downs to start. The COWBOYS broke through with just under five minutes to go though, tying the game at 14 and giving the ball back to the JETS with a chance to win the game.

They did just that, as Lee gained the edge on the right sideline and sprinted by multiple defenders on his way to the end zone. Up 21-14, the JETS were able to close things out, taking home the win and improving to 2-1 on the year.

Next up for the JETS is a crucial matchup against the 0-1-1 LIONS while the COWBOYS will look to respond against the CHIEFS. Both games kick off at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 9.
