And it only got closer in North Park, with the 0-1 RAVENS knocking off the 1-0 TITANS by a score of 26-19.

Entering the second half of the inaugural PFFL summer season, teams are fighting for playoff position across the board. Things are tight in the 13-to-15 year-old age division, as the four teams came into this week separated by only one game. And it only got closer in North Park, with the 0-1 RAVENS knocking off the 1-0 TITANS by a score of 26-19.

“Munch” Schaeffer was the star for the RAVENS offensively, rushing for three touchdowns on the day. He caused the TITANS defense all sorts of problems, moving side-to-side to fake out defenders before using his speed to sprint downfield.

But the RAVENS had to come from behind to get the win, as they were down 7-0 early after the TITANS scored on their first possession and tacked on a conversion with a catch by Raymond Brown III.

They immediately answered, though, with Schaeffer’s first touchdown. A failed conversion kept them behind 7-6, but they took the lead a few minutes later with another Schaeffer touchdown run. This time, the conversion was good, putting them up 13-7.

Getting the ball back with 1:30 remaining in the half, the TITANS put together a solid drive, capped by a long touchdown pass down the left sideline. At the break, the score was knotted at 13 apiece.

Just a few minutes into the second half, the RAVENS retook the lead on Schaeffer’s final rushing touchdown of the game. But the TITANS struck back two possessions later with a touchdown of their own, and with 10 minutes to go, the score was again tied at 19.

As time wound down, the RAVENS had the ball in their own territory with a chance to win the game. The TITANS sent a rusher sprinting into the backfield while the RAVENS quarterback rolled left. The rusher grabbed the flag just after the quarterback got the ball off, and the pass hit the receiver in stride for a touchdown. It was a close play, but it was enough for the RAVENS to walk away victorious.

After the bye week, the TITANS will return to action looking to bounce back against the EAGLES while the RAVENS take on the BROWNS. Both games kick off at 4:30 p.m.
