As the rest of the PFFL prepares for the start of the playoffs, the teams of Division II have already begun. Heading into this week, three of the four semifinal spots have been filled with one second-round game to go.

The last matchup of the second round starts at 2 p.m. and will feature the tenth-seeded BALD EAGLES taking on the No. 2 BLACK KNIGHTS. The BALD EAGLES won their first round contest over the NORTHSIDE INFANTRY by a score of 12-6. The BLACK KNIGHTS earned a bye after winning the Steel North division with a 7-3 record.

Receiver Corey Seligman leads the BLACK KNIGHTS on offense, catching 43 passes for 10 touchdowns this season. Eric Jones — the league leader in sacks with 14 — is the team’s best defensive player.

The BALD EAGLES boast one of the league's better defenses, allowing an average of 18.5 points per game. TA Smith leads the unit with 13 tackles and four interceptions. If the BALD EAGLES want to pull of the upset, they will need a strong defensive performance. The No. 3 WRENIS PINKLES — fresh off their 27-6 win over the PATRIOTS — await the winner in the semifinals.

In the top half of the bracket, the semifinal game is already set. It will pit the top-seeded DISORDERLIES against the No. 5 MUD DOGS in a match between the top two teams in the Iron North Division. On March 19, the DISORDERLIES handily beat their division foes, winning 22-6.

In the second round, the DISORDERLIES took care of business by beating the HURRICANES 20-6. Meanwhile, the MUD DOGS survived a close 25-19 game against the HONEY BADGERS.

The DISORDERLIES have been unstoppable all year long, with their only loss coming against PRIMETIME — the top seed in Division I. The MUD DOGS will certainly be the underdogs in this contest, but they shouldn’t be counted out, as their defense tends to keep games close.

The semifinals begin at 3:15 p.m. at Brentwood Stadium while the championship game will kick off at 4 p.m. on field three.
