With the win, the JAGUARS end the year with a 4-2 record, placing them in a tie for third in the division.

The 7-to-9 year-old division has been extremely competitive this spring, with first and last place separated by only 3.5 games at the end of the regular season. In the last week, the BEARS vs JAGUARS matchup pitted two middle-of-the-pack teams against one another.

The game got off to a fast start, as the BEARS’ Cameron Caruso broke a run down the middle of the field, taking the ball deep into JAGUARS territory. The JAGUARS defense stood tall though, making a crucial goal-line stand.

Soon after, the JAGUARS opened the scoring with a long touchdown run down the left sideline. It appeared as if the BEARS were in position to pull the flag, but the JAGUARS running back faked inside before bouncing out towards the sideline. The move fooled the defenders, allowing the JAGUARS to take a 6-0 lead.

It got worse for the BEARS on the ensuing possession, as JAGUARS defensive back Aniko Hines picked off a pass thrown into the left flat. He stepped right in front of the receiver, catching the ball in stride before walking into the end zone for a touchdown. The conversion attempt failed, and the score was 12-0 at the half.

The second half was an offensive struggle for both teams, as the quarterbacks combined to throw three interceptions. Neither team was able to get into the end zone, but the defensive slugfest was good enough for the JAGUARS, who won by a score of 12-0.

With the win, the JAGUARS end the year with a 4-2 record, placing them in a tie for third in the division. The BEARS dropped to 2-4 and will play one of the best teams in the first round of the playoffs on May 7.
