This is a huge win for the CHARGERS, who did everything they could to put themselves in position to win the regular-season title.

Entering the final week of the season, the SAINTS and CHARGERS were two teams tied for the lead in the 7-to-9 year-old age division. But even though their records were close, it was a much different story on the field, as the CHARGERS won easily by a score of 13-0.

Receiving the ball first, the CHARGERS took a 7-0 lead on the opening possession of the game, scoring on a long run down the left sideline.

The SAINTS couldn’t answer on the ensuing possession, as the offense failed to pick up the first down due to a fumbled snap. The unit was very sloppy all game long, and several drives stalled because of mishandled snaps and handoffs.

The squad’s defense was able to keep them within distance though, as they held the CHARGERS scoreless for the rest of the half. Aaron Loritts led the charge defensively, creating havoc in the backfield.

“We may be down a touchdown, but we’re just finding our way out of their tricks,” said Loritts.

But Loritts and the SAINTS’ defense weren’t successful to start the second half. The CHARGERS scored on their first possession, taking a two-score advantage.

From that point on, neither team could get much going and time eventually ran out on the SAINTS’ comeback attempt. The CHARGERS went on to win 13-0.

This is a huge win for the CHARGERS, who did everything they could to put themselves in position to win the regular-season title. The SAINTS will have to settle for a lower seed in the playoffs, but they will also finish the year in the top half of the standings.
