PUCK U has been one of the most impressive teams in the first half of the PFFL spring season, amassing a 6-1 record through four weeks of play. That resume places them at the top of the Iron Central division, where they currently hold one-and-a-half game lead.

Quarterback Adam Zyski leads the team on offense, having thrown for 17 touchdowns on the year — good for second in the league. He also likes to scramble out of the backfield, as he has recorded 11 rushing attempts and one rushing touchdown.

Receivers Jason Bialek and Josh Linton are Zyski’s favorite targets. Bialek leads the team in receptions with 27 and has also tallied three touchdowns. Linton is more of a downfield threat, as he leads the group in touchdown receptions with six.

Defensively, the team ranks second in the league in both sacks and interceptions, with eight and 11, respectively. Ryan Lancia is the primary rusher for the defense, as he has wreaked havoc in the backfield all year long on his way to recording all eight of his team’s sacks.

Ryan Church has been unbelievable in the secondary, and opposing quarterbacks should be afraid to throw in his direction. Church is responsible for seven of the team’s interceptions, and he returned one all the way in PUCK U’s opening game of the season.

Last week, PUCK U collected what might’ve been their best win of the year against 4-2 MMG, winning a close 24-18 contest. Their toughest games still lie ahead though, as they take on the undefeated PRIMETIME in their final game of the regular season on Sunday, April 9. If both teams continue to dominate their respective divisions, the game could be the PFFL’s most anticipated of the spring.

PUCK U has been incredible so far, but they still have a long way to go if they hope to walk away with as champions in May.
