Sunday’s game between Wrecking Crew and Vapor will pit two of the PFFL’s best quarterbacks against each other in Jeff Bollinger and Cornell Mack.

The pair has dominated the competition in the first few weeks, combining to throw 17 touchdowns to only one interception. Mack has completed 84.6 percent of his passes for Vapor (2-1) — good for second among players who have thrown more than one pass. Bollinger ranks one spot below with an 80.6 percent completion rate.

Wrecking Crew (3-0) also boasts one of the most prolific receivers in the league — Chuck Green. Green leads the PFFL in touchdown receptions and has hauled in 19 passes in three games.

The team’s defense is just as impressive. The unit ranks first in both interceptions and pick-sixes, and they have caused havoc for opposing offenses all season. On the year, they have allowed a mere 10 points per game.

Vapor will try to find holes in Wrecking Crew’s yet-to-be-solved defense by airing out the ball. The team has yet to record a rushing attempt this year, throwing the ball on each and every one of their 52 plays.

If the Vapor offense is to succeed, receivers Bryan Maldonado and Josh Vermeulen will need to have big games. The duo has been responsible for seven of the team’s 10 touchdowns, and they will have to play their best if they hope to compete with Wrecking Crew.

The task will be a tough one, but if Vapor is to climb back into the top half of the Iron Central Division, they will have to find a way to get it done. The game kicks off at 10:35 a.m. on field three.
