PATS Put BLOOD, SWEAT, and BEERS into Big Win!

Saying that the PATRIOTS have not established themselves as world beaters in their first two seasons with the PFFL would be an understatement. After going 4-6 during the rookie season in SPRING 2016, the PATS opened up the current season with a 1-6 record. Despite a competitive loss to the BILLY GOATZ, the sophomore team looked destined to fall to 1-9 on the season.

Fortunately, the PATS found their stride in a monster 30-12 win over BLOOD, SWEAT, and BEERS (BSB).

All-Star Jeff Holmes led the way for the PATS with three rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. With all due respect to every player on their roster, Holmes is the straw that stirs the PATRIOTS’ drink. His uncanny ability to make plays on both sides of the ball places him in the company of the league’s top playmakers.

Another All-Star who deserves recognition for his role in the PATS big win is free agent pickup Dan Barson. After seeing reduced time with PUCK U, Barson decided to take his talents to the PATS. Defensively the fiery player is a beast. Against BSB Barson snagged two picks.

While BSB at times looks like a team that is ready to implode the way they bicker among themselves and go after officials, I expected them to put forth a better effort than the one they actually put forth against the PATS. Other than Shane Singer’s two TDs, BSB did absolutely nothing on offense.

Don’t look now but the PATS are on course to finish the season at 4-6 again if they are able to defeat to beat SMOKE on October 16.
