You’re a shining star, no matter who you are!

FALL 2016 has brought out the best in several players so far. Although the season is only a couple of weeks old, I can already see the emergence of a few stars who could garner All-Star team consideration by the end of the year.

Briant Thompson, QB, VENOM

Thompson, a journeyman quarterback, seems to have found his niche while taking the helm of VENOM’s offense. Currently the passer has completed 65 percent of his passes for for 10 touchdowns to just four interceptions. As a result of Thompson’s strong play VENOM has compiled a 3-1 record to start the season. As soon as he learns how to reduce the amount of sacks that he is taking (eight on the year), Thompson will start getting recognized as one of the top passers in the league.

Jeff Holmes, WR, PATRIOTS

Last season Jeff Holmes made the All-Star team because he was able to establish himself as a solid deep threat during his rookie season. Since then Holmes has developed into a true number one receiver. On the season, Holmes has caught 27 receptions with five touchdowns. His deceptive speed and reliable hands are going to make defenses think twice about leaving the wideout in single coverage on the outside.

Alex Lohman, Rusher, HONEY BADGERS

Following last season’s disappointing effort by the PATRIOTS, Alex Lohman was the odd man out on a roster that did not allow him to do what he does best...rush the passer. During the offseason, the second-year player sat by the phone waiting for a team to inquire about his services as a free agent. For a while the phone was silent.

Then IT happened.

A new free agent team named the HONEY BADGERS contacted Lohman to see if he would be interested in rushing QBs for the BADGERS. Naturally he obliged.

So far Lohman is tied with PRIMETIME All-Star Rusher Kory Vorum for most sacks in the league with five. If he keeps this up, then the media will certainly start showing Lohman more love.
