Announcing: The STEEL Conference All-Stars

There was stiff competition for these all-star roster, making every position a tough decision.

The STEEL Conference division was full of talent this year both with its teams and individual players.  There was stiff competition for these all-star roster, making every position a tough decision.  The all-star teams were compiled not just based on stats, but effort, attitude, and team contribution as well.  

1st Team Steel Conference

QB: Lance Brunsell – DECEPTICONS

  • Brunsell has great numbers – 35 TD passes and an impressive 81.1% completion rate.  His skill, along with his veteran leadership is what sets him apart from others.

RUSHER: Joe Scalise – MMG

  • Scalise is second in STEEL with 8.0 sacks, but brings havoc to QBs on every play.  He is a standout because of his hustle and great attitude that he brings to the field every week.

WR: Brandon Seachrist – DECEPTICONS    

  • Seachrist leads the league with 53 receptions.  With great hands and effort, he has acquired 11 TDs and is the go-to receiver for the DECEPTICONS.  

WR: Jeff Holmes – PATRIOTS

  • Holmes put up great numbers this season with 46 receptions and 16 TDs.  He leads his team at the wide receiver position and is their go-to guy who comes through in the clutch.

DB: Rick Douglas – BILLY GOATZ

  • Douglas is the defensive stronghold for BILLY GOATZ.  This season he has an impressive 38 tackles and 6 interceptions and is always making plays all over the field.  

DB: Steve Shrum – STEELTOWN

  • Shrum is a defensive specialist and top-notch corner.  This season he has 29 tackles and 3 interceptions and shuts down most of the passes that come his way.  

IRONMAN: EJ Taylor – DECEPTICONS

  • Taylor is an all-around player who gives it his all.  His play is extremely strong on both sides – with 47 receptions, 13 TDs, 20 tackles, and 4 interceptions.

IRONMAN: Matt Griffith – BILLY GOATZ

  • Griffith is a great overall player who comes ready to play every Sunday.  He’s recorded 41 receptions and 9 TDs, not to mention his 17 tackles and 3 interceptions on defense.

2nd Team Steel Conference

QB: Jordan Fowler – BILLY GOATZ

  • Fowler leads STEEL with 44 TDs and has posted an impressive 81.7% completion rate.  He is a great team leader and has led his competitive BILLY GOATZ to a 9-1 record.

RUSHER: Eric Quinn – STEELTOWN

  • Quinn is a skilled rusher with 9.0 sacks this season, which leads the STEEL Conference.  He not only gets to the QB, but is an overall solid defensive player with 16 tackles.

WR: Trey Johnson – MMG

  • Johnson has compiled a stellar 48 receptions and 16 TDs this season.  He also leads MMG in both categories and is a vital part to MMG’s offense as Battaglini’s go-to guy.

WR: Connor Mannion – ANOTHER ONE

  • Mannion’s numbers include 29 receptions, 8 TDs, and 2 rushing TDs.  His versatility and skill at the WR position has contributed to his team’s comeback this season.

DB: Joe Binder – SPARTANS

  • In just 5 games with his new team, Binder has recorded 11 tackles and 2 interceptions.  Binder has made a name for himself and serves a great addition to the SPARTANS. With his former team, Binder hauled in 3 interceptions (2 for touchdowns) along with 5 tackles. 

DB: Jasson Adamson – MMG

  • Although he only has 14 tackles, Adamson’s interceptions speak to his talent with 9 this year.  He is a quick defensive back with great hands who causes havoc for his opponents.

IRONMAN: Shane Singer – VOODOO

  • Despite his team’s poor record, Singer has made a name for himself this year.  He’s done it all for VOODOO with a 61.5% completion rate, 23 receptions, 6 TDs, and 19 tackles.

IRONMAN: Dave Sexauer – MYSTERY MEN

  • Sexauer has contributed in all aspects of the game to his team’s first place 6-3 record.  He leads the team in TDs with 11, has 35 receptions, and 12 tackles defensively.

This season’s STEEL Conference all-star teams are chalk full with all-star veterans and also some newbies.  First-time all-stars include stand-outs Connor Mannion of ANOTHER ONE and Joe Binder of the SPARTANS.  

STEEL All-Star 1 and STEEL All-Star 2 will play Sunday, May 8th in a highly-anticipated all-star gameday.  These talented teams are the best of the best and ones you won’t want to miss.

Mandatory RSVP:

Players who were voted on to the All-Star teams must RSVP via email to marla@pghflagfootball.com by Wednesday May 4th 6:00pm. Players who do not RSVP will be replaced by honorable mention candidates for each position. The Adult League All-Star game will Sunday morning with an exact time and further details to be announced on Wednesday.
