When a team loses the first four games of a six-game season, most media teams would not be bending over backwards to highlight the rare positives that exist for that particular team. Fortunately, the COWBOYS have one of the most talented passers in the Middle Division.

Ladies and gentlemen put your hands together for COWBOYS Starting Quarterback LaRae “The Laser” Butler! This young phenom’s nickname is The Laser because she has laser-sharp focus whenever she is throwing the football even in the face of tremendous pressure.

Before the COWBOYS game against the RAVENS I caught up with The Laser to find out why she is such a polished QB. What I learned is that while this is her first season with the PFFL, Butler has been playing flag football for three years. Her experience comes shining through in the smooth manner in which she delivers the football with accuracy to her receivers.

One of the toughest parts about being the quarterback is that they get the lion’s share of the blame whenever the team loses. So far the ‘BOYS have only had two poor showings in their four losses, shutout loss to the VIKINGS in the season opener and a 15-4 loss to the RAVENS in Week 4.

Although Butler was visibly upset after the loss, she regained her confidence after listening to several pep talks from rival coaches. Rumor has it, that a certain 10-time championship-winning coach is planning to draft Butler in next season’s draft.

The Laser has made her mistakes but her team should feel confident about its chances in the playoffs, mainly because their QB is a leader.

“I think the quarterback is the leader because you can’t have a touchdown if the quarterback doesn’t throw it to you,” she said.

As Coach Lance Markell looks for new ways to help the ‘BOYS get a win let us remember that they have THE LASER. I foresee more long bombs down the field for Butler in the final two weeks of the season.
