After falling behind 6-0 early in the game, the CHARGERS collected themselves and served the COWBOYS a 26-20 loss.

Going into Sunday’s matchup between the CHARGERS and the COWBOYS, both teams viewed the game as a must-win for different reasons. Although the BOLTS were successful in Week 1 beating the STEELERS 25-12, the team lost confidence after suffering a 26-6 loss to the VIKINGS in Week 2.

On the other side of the field the COWBOYS were just trying to get a win to avoid going 0-3 by the midway point of the regular season. Despite having a talented roster anchored by veteran Cole Markel and rookie sensation LaRae Butler, the COWBOYS have been unable to translate their skills into wins.

Adante Berrien is arguably the most complete player in the Middle Division. His ability to make plays on both sides of the ball gives the CHARGERS an extra boost of confidence against any team. Offensively, Berrien was poised in the pocket throwing two touchdowns to Rowen Kautter and one to Griffin Lynch. On defense Berrien was a disruptive force. In particular, the CHARGERS leader was effective at limiting the damage done by Butler.

Speaking of Butler, this young phenom was instrumental in keeping the COWBOYS competitive threat who is the primary playmaker on her team. Whether her team needs a rushing TD on third down or a pass rush to negate the big-play ability of Berrien, Butler is always ready and able to deliver in clutch situations.

Despite the loss the COWBOYS showed tremendous resilience. Markel’s interception in the first half and receiving TD in the second showed his growth as a player in this league. Also, Rylan Daley shook off a couple of drops to secure a crucial first down conversion reception in the second half.

If the rematch goes down in the postseason, then I predict that the COWBOYS will be a decidedly difficult opponent.
