LETS GET PREGNANT has the talent but their lack of experience in the league is what puts them at a disadvantage.

LETS GET PREGNANT is a new addition to PFFL’s adult league this year.  QB Dan Nicolaus and WR Jake Porter, both of which play intramural football at Carlow University, started searching for an outside league to get into.  Nicolaus recruited some of his childhood friends and they all took their love for football to the PFFL.

Their start in the league has been a bit rocky.  After four weeks of play, LETS GET PREGNANT sits in 3rd place in the Iron East with an overall record of 2-5.  However, Nicolaus said he and his teammates aren’t too upset with the way they’ve played so far.

“The handful of our losses have come against really good, experienced teams. A lot of the stuff we did were simple mistakes that showed our inexperience.  In our other games that were close and in the two games that we won, I thought we played pretty well and we’re getting better as the weeks go on.”

LETS GET PREGNANT’s strong suit is their speed with talented players like Jake Porter, who leads the team in receptions and touchdowns, and defensively in Dan Nicolaus and Luc Tilley.  They have athleticism and youth over a lot of these teams, but just lack the discipline, which Nicolaus noted is something they need to improve on.

“We do get penalized a lot for silly stuff like forgetting we’re not allowed to set picks for blocks and occasionally we’ll fly at guards. We need to learn the rules a little bit better right now and then also work on our route running.”

Despite their current record, Nicolaus has high expectations in LETS GET PREGNANT’s ability to finish the season strong.  Once playoffs hit, Nicolaus said it best: “Anything can happen in the playoffs, so we just got to show up and play our best.

LETS GET PREGNANT has the talent but their lack of experience in the league is what puts them at a disadvantage.  Also, offensively, they are failing to score enough points to win against better teams, only averaging 11.0 ppg.  Even though I don’t think LETS GET PREGNANT is going to have a deep run in the playoffs, I do expect their record to improve by the end of the season nearing towards .500.
