These Players Still Shine When The LIGHTS Go OUT!

Although a few players will never be able to return to the PFFL, there are several from the banned team that would be impactful additions to any squad that is looking to add talent to its roster. If your team is looking to tighten up before the playoffs start, give these players a scan and contact League Administration. Teams that are interested will be connected with their new addition within 24 hours.

Ryan Marzock, Defensive Back

While most fans are unfamiliar with the quiet DB, his teammates have praised his ability to fill the role as the ultimate “glue guy.” For those of you that are unaware of what a glue guy is, allow me to define the term:

A glue guy is a role player on a team that will not necessarily wow fans statistically; however, his ability to remain even-keeled and upbeat will be a welcomed asset to any team that is looking to add depth and boost team morale.

I think the perfect fit for Marzock would be a team that is struggling to win games yet has plenty of talent on its roster. Keeping this in mind, I think that the SPARTANS could use a scrappy team player like Marzock on their roster.

Nick Scalo, Center

Another player flying under the loud personality of the banned team is Nick Scalo. Similarly to Marzock, Scalo is not a stat-filler by any means. To even make the banned team’s roster is indicative that Scalo has to have to be a reasonably good flag player in order to survive in this league.

Scalo is a high-energy player that needs to be surrounded by other players with a positive team outlook on games, especially in those when the team is trailing. Unfortunately, Scalo’s growth has been somewhat stunted by the banned team’s penchant to take away snaps from him.

Hopefully, teams will provide him with a decent opportunity to show off his skills so that he can find a new home before the playoffs start.

Selected by the VOODOO

Joe Binder, Defensive Back/Wide Receiver

One of the primary reasons why the banned team has been such a disappointment with the PFFL is because of shoddy quarterback play. When the QB has trouble either delivering the football with accuracy or escaping a pass-rusher then chances are that his team will not be very successful.

Joe Binder is one of the best two-way players from the banned team. He can run, catch passes, and defend as well as anyone on the banned team. Defensively, Binder already has three interceptions including two for touchdowns,

Based on his versatility Binder would do well on an established playoff team that is looking to stabilize its running game on offense and its secondary on defense.

Selected by the SPARTANS

Fritz Tamburro, Defensive Back/Quarterback

Former All-Star Fritz Tamburro is perhaps the most experienced guy remaining on the banned team. He is a natural-born leader who has a knack for inspiring his teammates to play on a higher level than they are accustomed to playing.

As a playcaller, Tamburro excels at dialing up offensive schemes that have resulted in several highlights for the banned team. Full disclosure, Tamburro is not the biggest player on the planet; however, what he lacks in height, he makes up for in heart and effort. His 27 catches in seven games show his reliability as a short yardage receiver that can be big time on first down and goal line conversions.

This man needs to be on a team with plenty of young talent so that he can serve as a mentor.

Dan “Beaver” Voith, Wide Receiver/Defensive Back

Last but not least is the player who I believe is not only the best player on the banned team, but also one of the best players in the league period. Voith was selected to his first All-Star game last season after posting career high numbers in receptions and touchdowns. His ability to make plays while the ball is in the air on both offense and defense are a big reason why the banned team was able to win three games so far this season.

Once again shoddy QB play has hindered the growth of Voith into becoming one of the best receivers in the league. Adversity aside, the young receiver still has 25 catches and three touchdowns through seven games.

Voith is the only player from the banned team that I would actually recommend to a good team bordering on elite status because he has shown that he can produce in big moments.
