Going into the game, I expected it to be close one – but man was I wrong. LIGHTS OUT lived up to their name and truly played lights out.

In Week 3’s second round of games, we had a matchup between the two bottom teams of the Steel North.  Going into the game, LIGHTS OUT held a record of 1-1 and GAME CHANGERS were in last place without a win at 0-3.

LIGHTS OUT dominated in the first half.  Right off the bat, they sacked GAME CHANGERS Elbert Millender for a quick two points.  The rest of the half LIGHTS OUT proved unstoppable, scoring four touchdowns.  GAME CHANGERS failed to stop LIGHTS OUT or score a touchdown.

The second half was nothing better.  LIGHTS OUT let up a little bit, scoring only one touchdown in the half.  But yet again, GAME CHANGERS failed to score a touchdown.  LIGHTS OUT paired their strong offensive first half play with solid defense in the second to win the game by a score of 36-0.

LIGHTS OUT QB Vince Flotta led the team, completing 60% of his passes, throwing for a TD, and running for one also.  The team scored most of their touchdowns on the run, with Mike Knuckles and Fritz Tamburro each having a rush TD.  Mike Knuckles also led the team defensively with a safety and a team-high four tackles.

Alex Lara and John Selva split time at QB for GAME CHANGERS.  John Selva seemed to be the better choice at QB, with a higher completion rate, but both proved to be ineffective overall.  Anthony Garcia led the team with two interceptions, but there really wasn’t any great highlights from the game for the GAME CHANGERS.

Going into the game, I expected it to be close one – but man was I wrong.  LIGHTS OUT lived up to their name and truly played lights out.  The poor play of GAME CHANGERS, both on offense and defense, resulted in their failure to get the first win they so desperately have been searching for.
