This past Sunday wrapped up two weeks of adult league play.  Although the season is far from over, a few teams have impressively led the pack over the others.  On the other hand, some teams have shown the need for major improvement in the next couple weeks.

Highs:

Several teams remain undefeated:

  • In the STEEL Conference, BILLY GOATZ holds first place in the Steel East with a 2-0 record, beating their opponents by a combined score of 71-7.
  • In the IRON Conference, three teams have a zero in the loss column.  VAPOR (4-0) and YGFT (3-0) sit atop the Iron North and MMG (4-0) leads the Iron West.
  • DECEPTICONS has leaders in three stat categories of the STEEL Conference.  Robin Sewell is tied for Defensive Sack Leader with 2.0 sacks.  Brandon Seachrist is the Receiving Receptions leader with 20 receptions and Lance Brunsell is tied for the Passing TD title with 12 TDs.
  • MMG has leaders in two stat categories of the IRON Conference.  Joe Scalise is the Defensive Sack Leader with 7.0 sacks and Trey Johnson leads the conference in receptions with 23.  The Passing TD leader is VAPOR’s Cornell Mack with 20 TDs.

Lows:

Several teams still remain without a win:

  • In the STEEL Conference, GAME CHANGERS holds a record of 0-3, after getting shut-out by VOODOO this week, 30-0.
  • In the IRON Conference, three teams still have a zero in the win column.  MEAN MACHINE is in last place in the Iron East with a 0-3 record.  VENOM (0-2) and GREEN MACHINE (0-4) both sit at the bottom of the Iron West.
  • AZTECS, MEAN MACHINE, LETS GET PREGNANT, and GREEN MACHINE all lost both their games on Sunday.  All four teams, with the exception of GREEN MACHINE, were shut out in at least one of their two games.
  • SPARTANS failed to show up for both their games this week.

Going into Week 3, I expect the skilled play of the teams listed in the highs to continue.  As for the teams in the lows, I hope they strive to improve and become part of the elite.
