The Journey: The Story of the Spring 2016 Free Agents

The 2016 spring season welcomed eight new free agents in the adult league.  These men came out and displayed their talents at the Free Agent Combine, hoping to be picked up by a team.

This year, all eight men, along with one veteran free agent, were drafted by league teams.  The teams include PATRIOTS, DECEPTICONS, LIGHTS OUT, VENOM, and BLACK KNIGHTS.  The fact that all of them were drafted tells me one thing: these teams must have liked what they saw.

As the season continues, I will be writing about the journey of this season’s free agents.  I will interview some of them to see how they are adjusting to the league and to their teams as new players.  I’m looking for these free agents to play well, contribute to the success of their teams, and have a good time.

It may prove challenging for some of them, as it’s hard to form chemistry and consistency with a team of guys you’ve never met nor played with.  However, I expect some of them will step up and make a name for themselves in the league.  Who knows, by the end of the season, some may even be a part of the all-stars.

At the end of the season, we’ll see which free agent failed to make an impact and which earned the name of the “best pickup of the season.”  Good luck to all the new free agents and stay tuned – the journey has just begun.
