Both teams had trouble making it into the endzone in their first games of the season.

The Steel Conference and Iron Conference will meet next Sunday in a game between GREEN MACHINE and ANOTHER ONE.  Both teams had trouble making it into the endzone in their first games of the season.

On opening day, GREEN MACHINE played two games and came out even at .500.  They played decently in their first game with a win over newcomer AZTECS by a narrow margin of victory of 12-7.  On the other hand, their second game of the day did not pan out so well.  They were demolished 38-6 by the DECEPTICONS.  Their only touchdown came in the first half, being shut out completely in the second half.

On the other side, ANOTHER ONE lost their only game that day to LIGHTS OUT by a score of 34-12.  They were able to score a touchdown in each half, but will need to score at least 3 touchdowns to beat GREEN MACHINE.

Both teams were mainly led by one or two players in their opening games.  GREEN MACHINE’s Joe Korilla led the team in tackles, tied with Zach Hall for receptions, and recorded a rushing touchdown.  ANOTHER ONE’s team was led by QB Brando Tessar, who completed 3 of 5 passes and threw for a TD and Chris Tuma with a team-high four tackles and a touchdown.

GREEN MACHINE currently sits tied for first place in the Iron West Division with DARKWINGS, both with a record of 1-1.  ANOTHER ONE sits at the bottom of the Steel East Division with a record of 0-1.

Both teams failed to score a sufficient amount of points in Week 1, but whoever ups their offensive game the most will get the “W.”  Based on their records and the records of the teams they faced this past weekend, I predict this game to be a close, low-scoring match-up. The game is set for Sunday, March 20th at 10:25 a.m. on Field 3.
