We had an Iron East matchup on the opening day of the spring season between PUCK U and LETS GET PREGNANT. Unfortunately, the game proved to be a one-sided blowout dominated by PUCK U.
PUCK U won the pregame toss and elected to take the ball first – a decision that paid off. On first down, PUCK U QB Adam Zyski threw to Josh Linton who went all the way for a touchdown, after a missed tackle by two members of LETS GET PREGNANT. Zyski completed the extra point conversion to WR Ryan Church, giving PUCK U an early 7-0 lead.
LETS GET PREGNANT answered the quick score with a touchdown of their own. After short passing their way down the field, LETS GET PREGNANT’s QB Dan Nicolaus ran the ball in for a TD. The failed one-point conversion kept the score at 7-6.
However, a six would remain in LETS GET PREGNANT’s score column the remainder of the game.
PUCK U would go on to score four more touchdowns in the game and a safety by Zyski to beat LETS GET PREGNANT 36-6.
PUCK U’s QB Zyski led his team to an impressive victory, completing 11 out of his 12 passes and throwing for 5 TD passes. The team was in sync the whole game both offensively and defensively. WR Josh Linton led the team in TD receptions with 3. Travis Dunn contributed with a team-high 5 tackles and a pair of TD receptions.
On the other side, LETS GET PREGNANT was disorganized and lacked communication, missing tackles left and right. Nicolaus and Bohlander threw for a pick each and struggled to move the offense down the field. Other than Nicolaus, the rest of LETS GET PREGNANT was relatively non-existent. The whole team needs to step it up if they want to have a chance in the league.
