Haser said, “I think if we come together as a team we’ll definitely go deep in the playoffs.

What’s UPDAWG? Most people don’t know, but after the INSTIGATORS’ triumph over their division rivals in the form of a 24-8 victory, we know that the recent winners were extra motivated this time around.

On offense the INSTIGATORS clicked on all cylinders led by Quarterback Kevin Haser. In fact, Hager connected with teammate/friend Frank Swick on three touchdown receptions. Haser and Swick have been teammates since their days at Pine Richland High School and then at Clarion University. In short, throwing TDs to Swick is like second nature to the INSTIGATORS’ offensive general. “Frank runs a 4.3,” Haser explained. “I lay the ball out there and he gets it.”

In the PFFL’s brief history there have been standouts that have played their way into the league’s record books. Among those iconic fixtures is Fall 2009 Ironman of the Year named Swick. In addition to his three touchdown grabs against UPDAWG, Swick registered four sacks on UPDAWG’s Steve Menowsky. Inexplicably Menowsky’s receivers would run deep routes leaving their QB helpless against Swick’s effective speed rush.

Even though the INSTIGATORS evened up the season series with their archrivals, UPDAWG still sits atop the Steel South Conference with a 3-1 record. One potential downside to a big win over a divisional foe is complacency. That’s why the INSTIGATORS are focused on improving as a team—even in victory. Haser said, “I think if we come together as a team we’ll definitely go deep in the playoffs.
