BULLDOGS off to a Good Start

“We’re sick of winning games and coming up just short in the conference. We know we can win it all.”

Few teams in the PFFL have as much experience as the BULLDOGS. And that experience was on display as Eugene Smith and company dominated the WLIDCATS, 51-18, in its fall season opener.

The WILDCATS got off to a hot start as quarterback Ira Remanley found a streaking Curtis Tate for a long touchdown, giving the rookie team a quick, 6-0, lead.

However, the BULLDOGS came right back, as Smith found stud receiver L.C. Trent for a touchdown. After the conversion, the BULLDOGS led, 7-6, which was the tightest this game would be.

“We were just able to run good routes today,” Trent said. “Eugene (Smith) is a beast. He’s the best quarterback in the league. We follow his lead.”

The BULLDOGS are used to winning games with its explosive offense, but the defense may have turned a corner finally for this fall season. Remaley was picked off four times during the game, leading to 25 BULLDOGS points.

Smith used all of his receiving weapons, delivering multiple touchdown strikes to Trent, Zach Gorney and Scott Dittler. Gorney and Dittler each caught two touchdown passes, while Trent brought in three.

The BULLDOGS have bigger goals for this season than just winning a couple games, however. This team has all the tools in place to compete for a title. And if you don’t think so, just ask Trent.

“We’re trying to go all the way this year,” he said. “We’re sick of winning games and coming up just short in the conference. We know we can win it all.”
