Anthony Garrett of ILLUMINATI used his first season in the PFFL to show why he could’ve played football when he was younger. His mother, however, never let him play because of the dangers involved.

“I love football, but I never got to play organized football,” Garrett said. “My mom just thought it was too dangerous for me.”

The 24-year-old independent electrician joined the league this season through free agency, and despite his team struggling throughout the season, Garrett believes the first year went well.

“The season went great,” he said. “I wish we could have done a little bit more, but it was alright for my first time.”

Garrett grew up in Woodland Hills where he participated in numerous track events, cross country and volleyball. He attributes his speed and stamina to running track his entire life.

As for where Garrett believes he got some of his football skills, he thinks those years of watching his favorite NFL player, Randy Moss, taught him a lot.

“Even though I never played football, it’s my favorite sport,” he said. “Randy Moss is my favorite player, that’s where I get it.”

It’s obvious that Garrett just enjoys playing the game of football, and when asked what he likes best about the PFFL, his love for the game shows.

“I always try to get people to come out and play pickup football but they never can,” he said. “Out here, I know I’m coming out each week and playing.”
