This might be the year that the CHIEFS win the championship.

In the season opener the CHIEFS delivered a crushing blow to the BROWNS’ playoff seeding aspirations after defeating the DAWG POUND 19-6. As much as this loss was discouraging for the players, BROWNS’ Coach Curd was affected by the disappointment as well because his teams have never beaten a squad coached by Jason Russell. If the BROWNS were going to avenge their blowout loss against the CHIEFS in Week 3 the team’s defense would have to step up big time.

While the BROWNS defensively got after the 7/9-year-old division’s best team, they were ultimately unable to put any points on the board in a 7-0 loss to the CHIEFS.

Regardless of the final score the BROWNS should be patting themselves on the back for the way their defense held the CHIEFS Coming into this game the CHIEFS were scoring an average of 26.3 points per game against their opponents. Brothers Cole and Roman Allen showed that they can be shutdown corners in the clutch.

As the division’s top-ranked defense the BROWNS have the tools to make life miserable for any team’s offense including the CHIEFS. Giada Muti and Addison “Addie” Arndt delivered the goods with their flag-pulling and pass-rushing abilities. Additionally, Jahad Holland-Davis and Ashley Barone brought great balance all day by subbing in regularly at linebacker.

The backfield duo of Jalen Patterson Bey and Bo Stover was contained most of the day; however, the players were bound to break loose. On a play for the ages, Jalen made one juke move and left the entire BROWNS’ defense in the dust.

The bottom line is that Jalen has matured as a premier playmaker in Coach Russell’s offense. This might be the year that the CHIEFS win the championship.
