One of the unwritten rules in sports is that an experienced team bordering on elite status should never lose to a free agent team. While this rule holds true in general, improbable upsets can occur on any given Sunday.

Nonetheless, the MYSTERY MEN were able to stave off an early push by the SAVAGES to win 28-14.

All-Star Quarterback Bob Lee was uncharacteristically erratic to start the game. On his team’s first possession, the veteran passer overthrew a pass intended for John Schohn. SAVAGE Free Agent Tyler S sped toward the right sideline, caught the interception, and tap danced to keep both feet in bounds. SAVAGE Quarterback Cameron “Brolic” Dixon quickly converted the miscue into points by throwing a long touchdown to Tyler.

After the turnover, Lee and the rest of the MEN returned to form by the end of the first half. His three touchdowns and 81.9 QB rating were clutch in a matchup that is the definition of a “trap game.”

Over the course of their tenure with the PFFL, the MYSTERY MEN have not undergone many changes to their roster; however, in the offseason they added several weapons to their team. Fortunately for the veteran squad, their new acquisitions are contributing to the success of the green guys on a weekly basis.  Against the SAVAGES Wide Receiver Dave Sexauer led the MEN with four catches and two touchdowns. In addition, WR John Laux added two catches and one TD.

Despite the early heroics of SAVAGE Free Agents Tyler and Will Mills, the SAVAGES were unable to keep pace with the opposing offense. Primarily, the SAVAGES are struggling because their players are not showing up for their games. Bryce Leach, Brandon Hill, Xavier Means, and Kam Keys are letting their teams down big time!

In the words of SAVAGE Quarterback Cameron “Brolic” Dixon, “BOYS GOTTA SHOW UP!”
