WILD CARD ROUND

The PFFL playoff brackets have been released, and the fates of teams have been determined. Throw all of the records out the window because the regular season means nothing now, as any team has the opportunity to win the championship.

The top four seeds from each conference will get rest until Sunday afternoon. While the bottom teams in each conference will battle in a Wild Card Playoff tournament to determine which teams will be the No. 5 seed in each conference’s playoff bracket.

The rising STALLIONS earned the No. 1 seed in the Iron Conference Wild Card tournament playing BAD NEWS in the first round. While Shake & Bake earned the No. 2 seed and will play SABOTAGE. The STALLIONS should easily get by BAD NEWS, and then defeat SABOTAGE in the second game to earn the final playoff spot in the Iron Conference.

The Steel Conference Wild Card tournament could be a little more interesting.TEAM UPDAWG earned the top seed for the conference, and should get by ILLUMINATI without harm. The second match-up, between PA PUNISHERS and THE U should be an exciting one, with PA PUNISHERS winning (provided its players show up). The PA PUNISHERS should provide the days first major upset by defeating TEAM UPDAWG and reaching the Steel Conference playoffs.

IRON CONFERENCE FIRST ROUND

The Stallions earned the No. 5 seed, and will face the No. 4 seed TITANS in the Iron Conference’s first round. The prize for the winner… STEELTOWN.

In a rematch of teams that played in the final week of the regular season, the TITANS will be looking for revenge after the STALLIONS ended its chances of getting second place in its division. Despite the revenge factor, the result will be the same as the STALLIONS, which is playing best at the right time, will knock off the TITANS.

STEEL CONFERENCE FIRST ROUND

The PA PUNISHERS feel as if it has something to prove after both TEAM UPDAWG and the BULLDOGS made it forfeit in the last week of the regular season because of roster violations. What better way to get revenge than to knock both teams out of the playoffs.

Once again, this prediction is based on the idea that the PA PUNISHERS will show up with stud QB Jason Cahill and WR Mike Washington. If this is the case, look for the PA PUNISHERS to knock off the BULLDOGS in an epic game.

IRON CONFERENCE SECOND ROUND

The No. 1 seed STEELTOWN, which has been the most dominant team all season, will face off against the league’s hottest team in the STALLIONS. Despite a great effort by the STALLIONS, talent and depth will win out as STEELTOWN pulls away in the second half to win this game.

The other second round match-up will feature No. 2 seed BALLZ DEEP against No. 3 seed SIX. BALLZ DEEP could be feeling motivated by the fact that it has gotten little attention since the emergence of STEELTOWN. No matter what its motivation will be, BALLZ DEEP should easily get by SIX and face STEELTOWN in the Iron Conference Championship game. Remember, STEELTOWN is the only team to defeat the veteran team BALLZ DEEP.

STEEL CONFERENCE SECOND ROUND

The No. 1 seed REIGN will face its toughest opponent of the season when it squares off with the PA PUNISHERS, and it’s only the second round. REIGN is one of two undefeated teams in the PFFL, but the PA PUNISHERS look as impressive as any team when its players show up. Another bold prediction, but I believe the athleticism of the PA PUNISHERS will give REIGN its first loss of the season and eliminate it from the playoffs.

The next second round game features underrated No. 3 seed WRECKING CREW and the No. 2 seed HORSEMEN. Although the HORSEMEN won its division, WRECKING CREW finished second in a tough division. The HORSEMEN will play tough as it did all season long, but WRECKING CREW will pull away at the end to meet the PA PUNISHERS in the Steel Conference Championship game.

IRON CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

Two teams deserving of the PFFL Championship will square off in the semifinals when No. 1 seed STEELTOWN meets No. 2 BALLZ DEEP. A game that features the league’s most prolific passing games will come down to just that; a shootout.

BALLZ DEEP quarterback Steve Chockla and STEELTOWN’s Chris Sullivan each threw for 35 touchdowns this season, more than double what any other player in the Iron Conference threw for. The game will come down to the end, but STEELTOWN will defeat BALLZ DEEP to reach the PFFL Championship game. But who will it play?

STEEL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Steel Conference didn’t come down to chalk, as No. 3 seed WRECKING CREW will face No. 5 seed the PA PUNISHERS. At this point, the PA PUNISHERS will have already played four games and should be beginning to wear down. Will the athletic PA PUNISHERS have any left in the tank to defeat WRECKING CREW?
Why not? Picking the PA PUNISHERS this far was already gutsy enough, might as well keep it going. The WRECKING CREW will fall behind early and chip its way back into the game, but the PA PUNISHERS will make a big play at the end to steal the Steel Conference Championship.

PFFL CHAMPIONSHIP

The two teams thought to be two of the most talented in the league at the beginning, STEELTOWN and the PA PUNISHERS, will face off in a championship game for the ages. STEELTOWN will be looking to complete the full undefeated season, while the PA PUNISHERS will be looking to do the impossible, and win six games in one day to capture the illusive PFFL Championship.

The PA PUNISHERS will put forth a valiant effort, but STEELTOWN will spread the field and get the win. STEELTOWN has been the most consistent team all season, and will prove it once again in the playoffs.
