Regular Season Wrap Up

The PFFL regular season provided some great stories this summer. Two teams finished undefeated (STEELTOWN, REIGN), one team finished winless (TEAM GET SMOKED) and several players reached individual goal they hoped to reach.

As the playoffs approach next week, a few teams are coming in hot, while several other talented teams aren’t.

Despite the STALLIONS overtime loss to SIX this week, it bounced back to defeat the TITANS, 20-13, right after. The part of the team peaking at this point in the season is the defense, which intercepted six passes in the final week, led by three from Aaron Kojundic.

The STALLIONS were able to get second place in the Iron East Division, which greatly improves its playoff seeding.

One talented team that isn’t heading to the playoffs the way it would like to is the PA PUNISHERS, a team that was considered one of the favorites early on. The team hasn’t even played a game that counted since the second week of the PFFL season, including two forfeits this final week against TEAM UPDAWG and the BULLDOGS.

The PA PUNISHERS finished third in the Steel North Division, and will have a grueling day if it wants any chance of winning the PFFL championship.

One certainty is that teams from the Steel South (REIGN, WRECKING CREW, BULLDOGS and TEAM UPDAWG) will benefit greatly from playing in what appears to be the PFFL’s toughest division.

Another sure thing is that the playoffs are sure to leave us with some excitement and entertainment. After all, each team and individual has been preparing for this Sunday all summer.
