“It really did feel good to go out there and get the first win,”

Coming into Sunday afternoon’s game, TEAM GET SMOKED and ILLUMINATI were both winless. Dennis Sentile, quarterback for ILLUMINATI, made sure his team didn’t leave the same way.

Sentile threw for four touchdowns and ran for another in a dominating, 32-12, performance. He believes the team just took advantage of opportunities that it hadn’t in previous games.

“We just took advantage of their (TEAM GET SMOKED) rush,” Sentile said. “A lot of teams play man, and we just need to learn to take advantage of that.”

TEAM GET SMOKED came out of the gates trying to go down field, but ILLUMINATI had the perfect game plan held quarterback Malcolm Butler to only three completions.

ILLUMINATI appeared to gain confidence from its defensive performance, after stopping TEAM GET SMOKED on its first two drives, ILLUMINATI scored on two long drives to take a, 13-0, lead into the half.

Once the second half began, ILLUMINATI did much of the same, as Sentile scored on a short rushing touchdown after another long drive.

TEAM GET SMOKED was finally able to get on the scoreboard as Matt Butler ran for a touchdown on its first play of the next drive. This was the first time ILLUMINATI lacked defensive discipline.

Although the win only gives ILLUMINATI one for the season, Sentile believes it’s important to get that first win out of the way with all of the new pieces the team has.

“It really did feel good to go out there and get the first win,” he said. “We have a bunch of new guys and it’s really about them now. I’m a veteran, so I just come out here to have fun now. So it’s exciting for the new guys really.”
