With a name like SABOTAGE, one could make the assumption that the members of that team know every trick in the book. Then again we all know what happens when you make assumptions. Perhaps SABOTAGE made some fatal assumptions about Team US as the SABOTAGE artists suffered an embarrassing 43-14 loss to US in the May Day Tournament.

Quarterback D. Stubbs threw four touchdown completions to pace US. Although Stubbs has been known to bask as a solo in the glory of his football accomplishments, he wasted no time crediting his success to an effective team effort. “It all started with team,” Stubbs replied in response to the reason behind his team’s impressive victory over SABOTAGE. “That’s why we’re called US.” Stubbs also caught an interception that set up an early touchdown.

One of the primary playmakers that Stubbs connected with on US was veteran Wide Receiver Jesse Harden. Some of you may recognize Harden as a key player on the Youngstown, Ohio team known as JOE'S PROS. JOE’S PROS won the Southpointe Showdown tournament earlier this year. Now, Harden is focused on being a contributor to US, catching two touchdown receptions from Stubbs.

As impressive as Harden’s scores were, his defensive play provided the game’s turning point. Early in the second half SABOTAGE was capitalizing off the momentum from cutting a 21-point deficit to 21-14. The players on the US sideline were beginning to grow restless as they watched their once commanding lead evaporate. Then Harden registered a safety on SABOTAGE QB Dirty which undeniably swung the momentum back in his team’s favor. “I seen that he wasn’t a mobile quarterback,” Harden explained. “So I squared my hips, and just pulled his flag as he was trying to get away.”

In addition to Harden, Rodger made some big plays for US. First he caught a touchdown to expand the US lead to 21-0. Then Rodger ended the SABOTAGE massacre with an interception return for a touchdown to complete the final score. Unlike his quarterback who attributed his successful play to his teammates, Rodger saved all of the glory for himself. According to the loquacious player, the reason why he played so well was because “they can’t stop me. That says it all.”

After such a dominant performance, every one in the PFFL is wondering is any team better than US?
