A storybook playoff run for DECEPTICONS came to a heartbreaking end after they lost 20-19 to PUCK U in the STEEL Conference Championship game.

Defensively, DECEPTICONS challenged PUCK U, holding them to just 20 points. In their previous two postseason matchups, PUCK U scored 26 points against BLUNT FORCE and 33 points against the VULTUREZ.

Unfortunately, the DECEPTICONS’ offense could not even score 20 points in the conference championship like they did in their first and second round games against SMOKE and DEATH ROW, respectively. All-Star Quarterback Sun Bear Coe was good against PUCK U but not great. Although the versatile player completed 69 percent of his passes with two touchdowns, Bear also threw an interception. The turnover took away a precious possession from the DECEPTICONS’ “O.”

On the contrary, PUCK U QB Adam Zyski had an impeccable passing day in the STEEL title game. The underrated passer completed 19 of 23 passes for two touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 108.2 passer rating. Zyski also rushed for a TD.

PUCK U Wide Receiver Travis Dunn led the offense with five catches and one touchdown. Ryan Church also caught a touchdown pass.

Defensively, Josh Linton (five tackles), and Jon Miller (one tackle, one interception) were clutch performers.

DECEPTICONS have been knocking on the championship door for a while. Eventually they will advance to the big dance; however, they need to add a dynamic receiver to compliment Brandon Seachrist. Currently, the squad relies too much on its running game and that includes Bear’s carries.

CONGRATULATIONS PUCK U!
