PRIMETIME Has Its Way with VAPOR in Blowout Win

Losing to PRIMETIME is not an insult to any team in the PFFL; however, VAPOR’s epic 27-2 collapse against PRIMETIME last week was unbearable to watch.

While one player should not be held solely accountable for the outcome of a team game, All-Star Quarterback Cornell Mack deserves the lion’s share of the blame for VAPOR’s embarrassing showing against a fellow title contender. Mack, who is still among the league leaders in pretty much every statistical passing category, put his team behind the 8-ball after completing just 50 percent of his passes for four interceptions and zero touchdowns.

Each pick that Mack threw seemed to demoralize the rest of the team. The league is not used to seeing Mack struggle so much with his accuracy. While PRIMETIME certainly deserves credit for capitalizing off of VAPOR’s turnovers, Mack was off all game.

Conversely, PRIMETIME QB Jason Scott continued his season-long dominance as the league’s best passer. Scott earned a 93.4 passer rating with four TDs and just one pick. Scott currently leads all quarterbacks in passing TDs with 28 and counting.

Although PRIMETIME’s passing attack is not as lethal as it once was when All-Star Wide Receiver Bruce Thornton was on the team, the remaining players in the receiving corps are playing at a high level. All-Stars Kenny Ashmore, Tahir Jackson, Troy Declair, and CJ Baker collectively caught 13 receptions and four touchdowns. Instead of allowing opposing defenses to key in on one featured receiver, Scott is spreading the wealth to multiple playmakers to keep other teams honest defensively.

Yes, PRIMETIME won this pivotal matchup convincingly against one of the most feared teams in the league; however, I expect Mack and VAPOR to respond very well when these squads meet for the postseason grudge match.
