Maybe WRECKING CREW”s defense is overrated?

WRECKING CREW, if you’re just now reading this…IT’S TOO LATE!

In a weird game where the CREW expending more energy battling the referees than they did battling their opponents, PRIMETIME easily defeated the defending champs 27-6.

All-Star Quarterback Jason Scott 19 of 20 passes for four touchdowns and zero interceptions for PT. His uncanny ability to evade the pass rush of CREW All-Star Gary Jones was vital to PRIMETIME’s success. As a result, Scott was able to pick apart the vaunted WRECKING CREW defense all game long.

Following the loss of All-Star Wide Receiver Bruce Thornton to the CREW and the absence of Tahir Jackson, I was expecting PRIMETIME’s offense to struggle against the elite defenders on WRECKING CREW. Enter Kenny Ashmore and CJ Baker. The two talented wideouts shredded the WRECKING CREW DBs over and over again for a collective stat line of 13 receptions and four TDs.

On the other sideline, WRECKING CREW struggled to keep their heads in the game. In the first half, PT jumped out to a devastating 14-0 lead and the CREW had no answer. Instead of sticking together to figure out how to slow down PRIMETIME’s high-octane offense, the CREW decided to go after the refs mercilessly. Meanwhile, PRIMETIME was able to remain composed enough to score more than enough points needed to win the game.

Maybe PRIMETIME just has WRECKING CREW’s number?

According to All-Star Rusher Kory Vorum, the last five times these teams have played against each other, PRIMETIME has “beat them [WRECKING CREW] by 25 and Mercy-ruled them by half on two of those games.”

Maybe WRECKING CREW”s defense is overrated?

This vaunted defense led by All-Star Defensive Backs Chris Booth and Brandon Morgan were having the most difficulty staying with PT’s crafty receivers yet they were the two that had the most to say about the officiating. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence, right?

For whatever reason, PRIMETIME was able to put the CREW in their place in this matchup. While I expect them to play better in their next game against PRIMETIME, I don’t know if last year’s big winners have the intestinal fortitude to overcome the adversity that they will face in the postseason this year.
