VAPOR is one of the most prolific teams to ever touch the PFFL gridiron of all time. Their superior skill players and crafty defenders are the primary components on which their dynasty was built. Nevertheless, every do has his day and that dog almost had his day with VAPOR last Sunday. In a stunningly close game between VAPOR and DECEPTICONS, VAPOR shook of some early miscues to snatch a victory from DECEPTICONS.

All-Star Quarterback Cornell Mack struggled early on with his accuracy. The accomplished signal-caller completed just 11 of his 20 passes for two TDs and one interception. Speaking of the turnover, Mack uncharacteristically telegraphed a pass intended for his favorite target All-Star Bryan Maldonado and was picked off by All-Star Defensive Back Shawn McCallum.

While All-Star QB SunBear Coe does not get nearly enough credit for his impressive command of the DECEPTICONS’ offense, I was pleasantly surprised to see the versatile QB outplay an all-time great in Mack. Coe amassed an 83.4 passer rating with two TDs and no picks. David Dewitt was his leading receiver with three receptions, one for a touchdown.

It should be noted that VAPOR was severely undermanned in this matchup with just four out of their eight players on the field last week. The team appeared rusty and in serious need of a breather throughout the matchup. Although they still got the W, something tells me that the DECEPTICONS will try to duplicate this performance if they meet VAPOR in the postseason this year.
