Interview with the BUCCANEERS

After interviewing countless parents over the years I have learned that youth flag football is a better alternative to tackle football for their kids for several reasons including health and enhancing a young player’s football IQ. That’s why the PFFL has kids as young as seven-years-old playing. As a result, many players that are currently in the Middle Division are contributing to their team’s successes. A prime example of this evolution can be seen in several players from the BUCCANEERS who opened up the FALL 2014 season with a dominating win over the JETS.

As I watched this game I noticed that Benjamin Haselrig AKA “Benny the Jet” was playing with a confidence that was non-existent back in his rookie 2011 campaign. Benny 2.0 scored on a speed sweep handoff and again on a reception. Coach Shor D clearly knows how to get the most of the talent he has on his roster so watching Haselrig flourish was not surprising.

In addition to Haselrig his quarterback Michael Sabo was exceptional in the passing game. His ability to complete passes with relatively high accuracy is impressive; however, the QB’s poise in the pocket under duress trumps every aspect of his game. On one play in particular, the young man evaded a rusher, stepped up in the pocket and drilled a pass into the arms of Haselrig for a TD.

Meanwhile on the opposite sideline, the JETS were unable to muster an offensive performance that could rival the BUCS’ scoring machine. The team did not score any points until Brooklyn Jones turned into Marion Jones and reached the end zone as the game clock was expiring.

Is there anyone that can stop the BUCS?
