WHITE OUT Quarterback Lance Brunsell was sensational in his season debut.

After last season’s shortcomings for VAPOR (they failed to advance to the championship game for the first time in three seasons), the team wanted to re-establish its dominance in Week 1 of the summer season. Unfortunately for the former champs, WHITE OUT outscored VAPOR 15-6 in the second half en route to a 21-13 win.

WHITE OUT Quarterback Lance Brunsell was sensational in his season debut. The veteran passer completed 85 percent of his throws for three touchdowns and a 118.8 passer rating. While All-Stars Jason Bialek (seven catches) and Ryan Lancia (five catches, one TD) were reliable targets for Brunsell, his deepest completions were delivered courtesy of the underrated Jeremy Mollinaro. Although he caught just three passes, two of those receptions went for scores.

Conversely, All-Star Quarterback Cornell Mack played below his MVP-caliber talents against WHITE OUT. Despite completing 66 percent of his passes with two touchdowns, the signal-caller threw a momentum-killing interception in the second half. All-Star Wide Receiver Bryan Maldonado led VAPOR with five catches and one TD. Also, newly-acquired player Dustin Dean left his imprint on the game with four receptions and one TD.

Ex-MMG Defensive Back Dane Williams wreaked havoc on VAPOR’s passing game. While the corner did not catch any interceptions, he was responsible for deflecting several throws from Mack away from his intended targets.

Following the game I caught up with Mack and he explained to me that he has added a receiver to VAPOR’s roster that will fill the void left by Aaron “AB” Brown. In the meantime, the QB is going to have to figure out how to feature Dean’s speed in the offense more often.
